I think of my old friend, a beautiful dancer, who was told to lose weight if she wanted to be in the annual show.
I think of my old dance teacher, who was constantly hungry but was afraid to eat.
I think of those dancers, students and professionals, who are secretly suffering from eating issues and weight concerns.
I dream of a stage where all bodies are respected and admired.
I dream of a stage where each and every dancer has his/her unique taste.
I dream of a stage where the show is about appreciating the whole art of dance and not about criticising body shapes and sizes.
Dancers Don’t Diet respects all dancers – small and large, thin and thick, short and tall, and everything in between.
I’m here to provide a safe space for dancers to work with their eating and body concerns so that they can truly shine on stage.
